Director’s Note
When I first read Pygmalion, I was drawn to the character of Eliza Doolittle, and her dreams of something more than selling flowers on the street corner. Her journey from flower girl to genteel lady is one of hard work, determination, and spirit. Henry Higgins takes on the challenge of helping transform the flower girl into a fancy lady as a bet, but later finds out that he has been changed by her as well. I have immensely enjoyed the process of this production, from discovering some wonderful talent at auditions, to nurturing the development of the characters, and seeing the story unfold onstage. There are sweet moments, emotional moments, and plenty of humor in this wonderful story. I am so proud of the entire cast, and very excited for you to see them bring this show to life. Lastly, I would like to thank my wonderful husband for all his love and support, and my son for being an awesome helper. Thank you for coming to support 4th Wall Players and I hope you enjoy the show.
Mallery Beard (Eliza Doolittle)
Mallery Beard is absolutely thrilled to be a part of her second show, Pygmalion by 4th Wall Players. The first show she participated in was An Evening with Alice, where Mallery played 2 drastically different roles. She played as Mrs. Agnes Dorchester, who was a ditzy elderly woman; and Maggie, who was the subconscious mind of a very insecure woman. If Mallery is not acting she’s a fan of spending her time around a variety of friendly people. She’s been working in restaurants since 15, and is the oldest sibling of 5. From on stage to at home, performing has always been in Mallery’s life. She hopes you will enjoy the show!
Josh Gibson (Henry Higgins)
Josh has performed with various Indianapolis groups, such as Mud Creek, The Belfry and IFTC (Improbable Fiction Theatre Company); but has spent a bulk of his time with this group; most recently appearing in 4th Walls production of An Evening with Alice. He is ecstatic to bring the legendary role of Henry Higgins to the stage and would like to thank you all for coming to the show, as well as the cast and crew for the tireless work they've put into bringing this classic to life.
Joshua Minnich (Colonel Pickering)
Joshua Minnich, called Minnich on most days, is no stranger to acting and has done community theater off and on for the past 9 years. He last appeared on a stage as Mr. Witherspoon in Arsenic and Old Lace with the Firelight Theatre Guild, and is excited to make a return to the stage after one of his shortest breaks from theatre yet. When not putting on character shoes, he writes a hundred different projects of fiction, voice acts for the kicks and giggles of it all, or plays tabletop games with his family and friends. This is his first show with the 4th Wall Players, and he hopes to bring all dedication that is due for the true gentleman and scholar called Colonel Pickering. He above all wishes for the audience to enjoy the show!
Ryley Trottier (Mrs. Higgins, Cockney Bystander, Party Guest)
Ryley is thrilled to be in her second 4th Wall Production! She was last heard off stage as the voice of the evil mirror in their production of Beauty and the Beast. Favorite past credits include Jacques in As You Like It with NCAC, Karessa/ ensemble member in Tick Tick…BOOM! with CCP, Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet with GSC, and ensemble member in The Bodyguard: The Musical with Footlite and Rocky Horror Show with BCP. Ryley would like to thank her family and friends for all of their unwavering love and support.
Stephen Taylor (Alfred Doolittle)
Stephen G. Taylor is excited to make his 4th Wall Stage debut! Having performed in The Diary of Anne Frank, Arsenic and Old Lace, and Harvey, he's grateful for the opportunity to share his enthusiasm for the stage.
Emily LaBrash (Mrs. Pearce, Hostess)
Emily has not gotten to do much acting since high school where she participated in IRT’s Summer conservatory twice and one play as a junior. She made her return to the world of Theater by costuming 4th Wall’s Firebringer last spring and co-costuming Tartuffe after. She is super excited to return to the stage with this production. She’d like to thank her parents for always encouraging her, her karaoke family for feeding that performance bug since 2016, and her boyfriend, Thomas, for running lines and endless pride and support.
Jericho Frank (Freddy Eynsford-Hill)
Jericho Frank is excited to be making his 4th Wall Players debut with Pygmalion! He is a relative newcomer to the Indy theatre community, first performing as Paris in The Alley Theatre's Romeo and Juliet in 2023, and he has enjoyed getting to explore and meet wonderful people and companies. Favorite past roles include Charley Wykeham in Charley's Aunt, George Gibbs in Our Town, and ensemble roles in Sweeney Todd and White Christmas. Most recently, he played Will in The Book Club Play at Buck Creek Playhouse.
Alyssa Lay (Mrs. Eynsford-Hill)
Alyssa Lay (Mrs. Eynsford-Hill) is thrilled to make her 4th Wall comeback! She was last seen with 4th Wall for Tartuffe last year as Dorine, and she has been itching to get back with this group ever since. She was most recently in Buck Creek Players’ production of The Book Club Play as Jen. Some favorite prior roles include Goneril in King Lear, Viola in Twelfth Night, and Frances in No Sex Please, We’re British. She would like to thank Katherine and Kelly for taking a chance on her, and her friends and family for coming to see the show. Enjoy!
Olivia Taylor (Clara Eynsford-Hill)
Olivia R. Taylor is over the moon to step onto the stage for her first-ever performance with 4th Wall Stage! Currently a student at Noblesville East Middle School, she's eager to captivate audiences and keep shining in future shows. A huge shoutout to her mom for being her biggest cheerleader!
Kathryn Paton (Countess Nepommuck, RP Bystander)
Kathryn “Kat” Paton is excited to join 4th Wall Players for another show! She has previously performed with Catalyst Repertory, First Folio, and American Lives, and has taken the stage at IndyFringe, District Theatre, Booth Tarkington, and various other venues across the city. She’s grateful for the opportunity to bring this production to life and thanks her fellow cast, crew, and audience for their support!
Benjamin Elliott (Host, Constable)
Benjamin Elliott is an actor, singer, and musician living in Fishers, Indiana with his girlfriend and their two cats. This is his second production with 4th Wall Players, after playing Torterue in The Grotesque of Notre Dame. Other credits include Caiaphas in Jesus Christ Superstar, King Maximillian in Cinderella, Harry Bailey in It’s a Wonderful Life, Warner in Legally Blonde, and Tranio in The Taming of the Shrew. He would like to thank the Gibson family for their love and friendship.
Lacy Taylor (Taxiperson, Parlormaid, Party Guest)
Lacy K. Taylor is thrilled for her stage debut with 4th Wall Stage! A Noblesville High School graduate, she looks forward to entertaining audiences for years to come. Thank you to her mother for the support!
Tracy Fouts (Sarcastic Bystander, Party Guest)
This is her 3rd production with 4th Wall Players. She played Gwydion in Beauty and the Beast and Molag in Firebringer. She is excited to be a part of this production as well. She can't wait to grow with them and continues to grow as an artist.
