Breaking boundaries, norms, and walls since 2011

4th Wall Players Co-founders, Josh Gibson and Alan Keith first crossed paths in junior high during a production of Willy Wonka, both playing Oompa Loompas.

Not long after, Josh assembled his first rag-tag group: a team of passionate high schoolers who cared deeply about producing quality work and having fun while doing it. Together, they created a space where everyone was encouraged to explore their skills and ideas. Their shows were earnest, a little chaotic, and full of heart, driven by the simple belief that anyone with the desire to create deserves the chance to try. Something about what happened

Alan joined Josh after high school, and together they dove deeper into their creative world – writing original pieces, recording homemade films, and making whatever they could with the tools (and school equipment) they had access to. It wasn’t glamorous, but it was real, and it stuck.

In 2011, the pair took to the stage with their first production of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare. Once again, they began to piece together a crew of driven, quirky, and loving storytellers, many of whom are still on the team more than a decade later.

With each story we tell, we grow, as people, as storytellers, and of course, as dreamers. No idea is too big, and no character is too small, and when you attend a 4th Wall show, you’ll witness a cast that leaves their heart on the stage.

And our story doesn’t end there; If you have a project you’ve been envisioning that you want to see brought to life, be it a play, movie, audio production, or anything else, we’ve made it our mission to help others find their creative outlets and bring their stories to life.

We aim to shape a community where creativity thrives and every story — and person — has a place.
